Viani D'Cunha marches on!

Karnataka's Viani D'Cunha (ELO 1988) demolished the
defences of highly rated Ramnath Bhuvanesh (ELO 2115)
to continue his fine showing in the National
Sub Junior Chess Championship being played at
the Mount Chess Academy, Chennai. Another tough
opponent in the shape of FM Prasanna Rao (ELO 2228)
awaits the Mangalore boy in the 4th round.

His statemate and World Under 10 Champion
FIDE Master Girish Kaushik (ELO 2086) was held to a draw
by Atishay Ajmera (ELO 1903) of Rajasthan. His next test
will be coming from P. Lokesh (ELO 2012) of Tamil Nadu.

Belgaum's Niranjan Navalgund (ELO 2012) who has upset the applecart
of topseeded IM S.P. Sethuraman (ELO 2427) had no answer
for National Under 11 Champion Fenil Shah (ELO 2124) of
Gujarat. He next plays Keegan Furtado (ELO 1870) of Goa.
