Girish Kaushik continues fine run

Karnataka's Girish Kaushik (ELO 1990) notched up his third consecutive victory against Burduli Guga of Georgia to lead in the Boys Under 10 section. He next plays Bulgarian Berbatov Kiprian who had earlier upset second seed Beradze Irakli (2080) of Georgia in the fourth round.

In the Under 8 section, top seed M. Satvik (1924) was held to a draw by Georgian Iarajuli Tornike. He is joined on 2.5 points by Bangalore's Arjun Bharat who won his game against Gulashvili Tornike of Georgia. Arjun now plays Georgian Iarajuli Tornike in the 4th round tomorrow whereas Satvik has compatriot Mohineesh Ch to deal with.

Adith Jagadish (2162) of Mangalore also took his tally to 2.5 points after he drew with American Daniel Naroditsky (2040)in the Boys Under 12 section. He plays Armenian Gabuzyan Hovhannes (2051) tomorrow.

World Youth - Karnataka kids excel in early rounds!

Karnataka's M. Satvik (ELO 1924) justified his top seeding by winning both his
games in the first two rounds in the Under 8 section of the World Youth Championships being held in Batumi, Georgia. He beat Khizanishvili Levan and Jishkaiani Davit (both of Georgia) to log 2/2 points. He now meets another Georgian Iarajuli Tornike in the third round.

Another Karnataka lad Arjun Bharat, also in the Under 8 section, won against Oniani Alexandre of Georgia in the first round but was subsequently held to a draw by compatriot G.H.Jarshavardhan Reddy in the second round. He now plays Georgian Gulashvili Tornike later today.

Mangalore's Adith Jagadish (2162) is doing well so far in the Boys Under 12 section with 2/2 points. He plays American Daniel Naroditsky (2040) in the third round. Asian Gold medallist 2005 Girish Koushik of Mysore is also on 2/2 in the Boys Under 10 section and he plays against Burduli Guga of Georgia in the third round.
