Manasa bags bronze in Under 17 Nationals!
K Manasa of Mangalore representing Karnataka,
won the bronze medal in the National Under 17
age group girls Chess Champoinships held at
Kalash Mangal Hall Aurangabad in Maharashtra
from 8th to 16th October 2008. She will be
gaining 9 ELO rating points for her efforts.
This is the selection event for the next year's
Indian Team for the Asian Youth Chess Championships
in the Boys and Girls sections was conducted
by the Marathwada Chess Association on behalf
of All India Chess Federation (AICF).
Pon. N. Krithika of Tamil Nadu was the winner
whereas reigning National Junior Girls Champion
Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa finished runner up.
K. Shruthi, Manasa's teammate, finished a creditable
9th.
